I decided to make a remix of two recipes for this project! At first, I was going to make a song remix out of a few of my favorite songs in my playlist but I realized that those songs were all licensed. I wasn’t interested in making a song remix out of non-copyrighted music that I just found, because I wouldn’t really be passionate about it as the songs I’ve been listening to all the time. After that, I decided to combine recipes and make a food remix. Not only would I be able to try out the different recipes on youtube I would also be able to have something yummy to eat in the end! Which sounds like a win-win situation to me! I decided to combine the Nutella mousse ( the first recipe by Cooking Foodie ), the chocolate ganache, top layer, of the Nutella cheesecake ( the second recipe by Cooking Foodie ), and the bottom oreo crust of the oreo cheesecake ( TheCooknShare ). In the end, I made something like a Nutella mousse cake? From bottom to top was an oreo crust, Nutella mousse filling, and Nutella ganache  It turned out great, and family loved it! My family isn’t that big of a fan of cheesecake nor did we have the cream cheese for it, which was a big factor as to why I combined the two recipes in the Nutella video and substituted it with Nutella mousse. Funnily, my younger sister told me that it was the best decision I ever made 😂 

Next time I try making this remix recipe again, I would like to add a layer of cake. So it would be Oreo crust, thin Nutella layer (to stick the cake and crust together), the cake, Nutella mousse, then Nutella ganache. Not surprisingly, afterward, I searched up chocolate mousse cakes, to see if it was a thing, and found out that one of the recipes was really similar, but without a crispy bottom layer and with a chocolate cake layer. You learn something new every day 😀

What license you’ve chosen for your work and why.

I did not get a license for my work because it was just a recipe remix. Thousands of people online, like on YouTube, cook the same recipes all the time but add their own special ingredients or edits to fit their taste. Recipes, in general, do not have copyright restrictions (I think).

Your thoughts about Copyright: is it working as is? Should it be strengthened, weakened, or modified?

I feel that copyright in some places, like fashion, should be strengthened because there are always people that pour everything into their work ( money, time, effort ) just to have it copied and sold by others which I hate. And these counterfeits would be cheaper so more people would buy from them instead of the original creators. However, these counterfeits would be of bad quality and would bring down the image of the original creator’s work. That’s why professionals would always tell people that it is always better to buy from the source instead of buying from unknown websites for cheap because you would most likely be buying a fake and scammed from unofficial sites!

The freedom & fear, the empowerment & risks, of Internet Culture.

I think that the freedom of the internet culture is amazing and can globally connect people around the world. However, the scary thing about the internet culture is that it can ruin lives. Rumors, false information, scams, legal rights distribution, and bullying are intensified within the internet. All, because people feel safer behind a screen and feel entitled to speak however they wish without caring about the outcome of their words. Being about to hide behind a screen makes them feel empowered to do whatever they like. So many celebrities or regular people can easily become popular within the media and crumble from the same thing. I know of a few celebrities, that I followed, who became popular and famous with a big fan base, but because of a single cultural mistake or because they told the world about their beliefs ( like how they endorse gay marriage ) they got kicked out of the company or bullied online to the point they committed suicide. Or paparazzi taking photos and making stories up just to get views, not caring about how they could ruin a person’s life. This happened to a child actor and so many people started talking bad about her just for proof to show up proving that the news was false and the company of news article had to apologize to the child actor. But I got so furious because the kid was just barely 10 years old and so many people decided it was okay to bad mouth the child because of the false news?! I can’t imagine how the child must felt during those 2 days before their company was able to send an article with proof online. The things that people wrote made me feel disgusted and fear of the internet, that humans could be so cruel and brutal.
