Bubble Letters 05/03/2020

My Experience

I had a lot of fun with this project! I was doing it out in my grandma’s backyard while listening to music and chatting with my aunt or grandma from time to time. I tried to set up two phones, one to record me drawing, and the other of the actual drawing being drawn by me. The tough thing was that the phone that recorded my drawing kept on exiting after every 4 minutes so I had to reconnect the recording over and over, but it told me that I ran out of memory so I gave up on the rest of that recording. But the good thing was that the other phone did a great job recording my drawing that I was creating, which was the important recording.

I felt like this activity was a great activity to relax and get away from all of the coding and biology studies. When I started out the project I was thinking about how bubble letters should look like balloons or bubbles right? 3D shape letters with shadowing and round edges. So I thought it would be cute to draw a character blowing bubbles and the bubbles were in the shape of my name. I decided that I should draw myself blowing out my name, but I didn’t want to draw a caricature or a chibi version of myself so I decided to draw myself as an animal 😆!

My little sister always told me that my actions sometimes are like that of a parrot, but if I was an animal I would be a Blue Barred Parakeet because it is smaller (since I’m short) and it’s my favorite color. In the end, I drew a blue barred parakeet blowing bubbles that spells out my name while hanging on a flowering tree. I think it turned out cute, but I wasn’t completely satisfied with my drawing since I did not think I did a good enough job making the bubbles look like actual bubbles.
