Theme: A Second Home (Love Nikki Edition)
Summary: My art gallery is about having a second home in the virtual work. There are many games that allow players to customize their own character and their character’s home and Love Nikki is one of those games. Today I am going to visit my friends’ houses in Love Nikki and explore how they customise their virtual homes. Every player in Love Nikki starts out with a regular one roomed house which is a Warm Hut, plus a beginner set of clothes, and a bike for getting to places. As you play the game you can upgrade your house to a Refined House (2nd Floor), then a Deluxe Villa ( which is the 3rd Floor > 4th Floor > 5th Floor ). Once all of the floors are unlocked you can add a second room to each floor, which adds up to a total of 10 rooms! As we explore these houses through my gallery, you can see how different people would view their homes in different ways. The 4 artists I am showing, explore my idea of a virtual second home by showing their ideal virtual house. Some people like to view their house as one giant house while others may view their house as multiple houses under one apartment, which makes every artist’s home unique! These artists also usually have a repeating trait in each room or independent themes for each room.
Tea set by tina
First I am going to talk about my art work! In the game I own the maximum amount of rooms possible, which is 5 floors and 10 rooms. I like to view my house as one giant house with multiple rooms/floors. The name of my house is Tea Set and each room is named after a type of tea. On the 1st floor I have a Japanese style living room with a koi pond to the left and I named it Black Tea since I want it to be a relaxing room that relieves stress. The room next door to the right is an outdoor pool with a separate room for an indoor pool, which I named as Oolong because Oolong Tea is a Chinese tea that must be sunbathed and it promotes weight loss (and swimming promotes weight loss)! From the living room you can go upstairs to the 2nd floor where I have the kitchen, named Chai Tea since the kitchen has a lot of spices. And next door is a separate café, which is not connected to any of the other rooms. Going up to the 3rd Floor from the kitchen is my bedroom, which I named after the Lavender Tea that helps relieve muscle pain and induce sleep. Connected to the right of the bedroom is the spa (aka also used as a restroom) and I named it after the White Tea that promotes anti-aging, detoxification, and stress relief. Between the two rooms is the hallway and in the middle of that hallway is the stairs that lead up to the 4th floor. In the 4th floor is the recording/instrumental room to the left and the library to the right. Between those two is another stair that goes up to the 5th floor, which is the top floor. The top floor contains the gaming room to the left, and the indoor garden to the right. A common trait of my virtual house that occurs a lot is nature! In all of the different rooms are varieties of plants, flowers, and vines that complements the different rooms. I like my house to be filled with greenery, wooden furnish, and warm tones.

Azeroth
by Azeroth
Azeroth is the only artist that I don’t personally know in this list, nor is she my friend in the game, but is a random house that I wandered into and ended up loving. Her home avatar is also wearing the cute Japanese clothing set that’s only available once you collected all of the furniture of the Japanese Furniture Set.
She has a total of 5 rooms, one room on each floor. Her house is named after her character’s username and each room is labeled like an actual house: Main room (living room), Kitchen, Relaxin room (bedroom), Restroom, and the Library.
A common trait I see in all of her rooms is that even though we may have gone up a floor through her stairs, the next room may still have a door that goes outside to the street! 🤯 It may have been for the aesthetic or maybe she connected some of the rooms in her head ( like the 1st and 5th floor may have been connected and she only has 4 floors in total 🤔?) Other than that I have to say I really love how she decorated her rooms!
She uses a lot of warm tones and has a lot of plants in every room which is another common trait that I noticed! Her rooms are all modern themed and tend to lean towards comfort.
Sandy by sandy
Sandy is my friend from high school that also plays this game. Her house has a total of 4 rooms, one on each floor, and her house is named after herself. Half of her rooms are named (the first floor is named StanExo and her 3rd floor is named cloud), while the other half are default names. The first floor is a cute pink colored theme cafe with lots of cats and flowers. The 2nd floor is a pink themed house with lots of pink and white furniture and plushies. There are also a few plants and flowers along with a white cat. It reminds me of a cute bedroom. The 3rd floor is a japanese styled house that includes a bed, living room, hot tub, plants such as orange trees, and the backyard. This time there is a black cat in the house. The last floor is a cute clothing boutique with 3 cats. It’s a clean gray room with white, black, brown, and pink furnishing. All of the rooms in Sandy’s house are like individual homes/stores. A common trait in all of these houses/stores is that there must be at least one cat, and some type of flower or bush for decoration. Another common trait is pink because her favorite color is pink 🤗 We can learn that she prefers a cute house with lots of cats!

Jenifer by jenifer
Jenifer is a classmate of mine from highschool that also plays the game. She has a total of 3 floors in this game, a room on each floor, and her house is named after herself. Each room is colored themed with the first being blue, second being pink, and third being purple. The first floor has stairs that leads up to the second floor, while the second floor doesn’t have any stairs leading up to the third floor. The third floor has stairs that will lead up to a potential fourth floor in the future, but it is still locked for now since it has not been bought yet. I can assume that there’s a stair on the second floor that leads up to the third floor, that we just can’t see because the game only shows half of the walls, because, from what I see, Jenifer’s house looks like one giant home instead of multiple individual houses. The first floor is a blue themed living room, the second floor being a pinked themed bedroom, and the last floor being a purple themed hangout room with a pool, piano, and dresser. A common trait that I see is that there is at least one cat in the first and second floor. It also seems like each floor has a different theme with a different feeling to them. The first floor seems to give a comfortable, go-green vibe since there is a mixture of a cool blue room, ash blue colored wooden flooring, with greenery from plants, and liveliness from the cats. It is very outgoing and inviting. The second room is very cute with pink and white furnishing, wallpaper, and flooring. Including a cat. The last floor is very active with places to play music, swim, or try out clothing.
In the end, I realised that majority of players just set their house named as default which is interesting. I also found out that alot of players, including my most of my friends, don’t pay much attention to their house in this game. This is not surprising to me because the main focus of this game was fashion so most players spend their game coins and diamonds on clothes. I had fun looking up all of my friends virtual houses in this game and I hope everyone also enjoyed seeing the 3 houses I chose to share in my gallery!😃
